WAYNESBURG – Mapletown High School’s Relay for Life team took part in the Greene County Relay for Life event this past Saturday, in Waynesburg.

This event was filled with many fun activites, competitions, food and drinks, and over a hundred people trying to raise money for the fight against cancer.

At this event, our very own Mapletown team set up a tent and sold baked goods, waters, and had a twist with a theme of the board game, “Monopoly.”

As many of you may know, in this commonly played board game, there are “Chance cards.” At MHS’s tent, people would pay 50 cents to pick a chance card. These cards had many variations from “pick a treat on us” to “go to jail.” Team leader, Mr. Decarlo, even got sent to jail with, a special visit from Ethan Carter.

On another note, Ethan Carter participated in the “Relay Queen Pagaent.” This is where a boy participant dresses as a women, and answers questions and performs a talent. Ethan did end up winning the pageant.

Mapletown, as a team, raised over $1,500 for the American Cancer Association to help take part in the fight to find a cure.
