It’s almost that time of year again! The time when love is in the air. That’s right folks it’s Valentine’s Day time. The smell of chocolate begins to fill the air. The tedious event planning begins, but there are still a few who think they have plenty of time. Valentine’s Day is a day of love and laughter with the one or ones you love. However, there are still some people who think it’s a pointless holiday. I conducted an interview with six different students, three boys and three girls, of different age and grade. They are: Colton Greene, a tenth grade boy, Isack Beck, a twelfth grade boy, Ryan Tuttle, an eleventh grade boy, Alison Beal, a tenth grade girl, Devan Clark, a seventh grade girl, and Sadie MCcann, a tenth grade girl.
What is the perfect Valentine’s Day gift?
Alison- “Love and Attention :)”
Colton- “Chocolate and to watch movies with the girl/ boy you love.”
Devan- “Slime and chocolate.”
Isack- “Food and a good movie/ Tv. show.”
Sadie- “Box of Chocolate.”
Ryan- “A rose bear.”
Is Valentine’s Day more for men or women?
Alison- “For both.”
Do you think that we should have a Valentine’s Day? Why or why not?
Alison- “Yes!!! It’s fun and nice to do.”
Colton- “Yes because if people are to scared to give them in person they can put it in their lockers.”
Devan- “Yes because it is a good way to show how you care.”
Isack- “Maybe, not everyone would want to participate.”
Sadie- “Yes it’s a fun holiday and easy to celebrate.”
Ryan- “Yes, because it’s important for couples.”
Well, there you have it folks. Everyone, for the most part, had relatively the same answer for the gift-chocolate and a movie- it doesn’t get much better than that. Three out of the six said that it was for women and the other three thought it was for both. To me, that is pretty surprising! I thought more would say it’s for women. Everybody thinks that we should still have a Valentine’s Day. Who would pass up a day when you could receive chocolate?
