Mapletown: This week I interviewed Danielle Atwood who has played basketball for three years. What made Danielle give basketball a shot was it allowed her to get her mind off other stuff that was going on in her life. “The more and more I applied myself to {basketball} the more I fell in love with it.” Danielle would like to recognize Doug Mclintire as the person who had the biggest influence on her and “always pushed me to do better.” One of the most important lessons the game has taught her is to be level headed and keep her emotions in check, which applies both on and off the court.

Danielle is involved in three clubs, Future Teachers of America, SADD, and debate team. After high school Danielle is planning to attend either Lock Haven University or California University. Danielle has a soft spot for kids and feels that majoring in social work would allow her to truly enjoy her job, and make a positive difference in the lives of children.
