JEFFERSON – The Opioid Overdose Outbreak is a problem all over the United States but has especially hit home over the past few years.
According to statista.com, Pennsylvania ranked 5th with overdose deaths in the U.S., and Greene County ranked 9th statewide in 2015.
On Thursday, March 1st at 6:00 PM, there will be a County Wide Drug Prevention Night event held at Jefferson-Morgan High School’s auditorium.
This event will provide a chance to inform parents in the community about the dangers of drugs and how to keep their kids safe.
There will be a presentation by Waynesburg University’s Forensic science director, Mike Cipoletti, a question and answer panel with Jefferson Morgan’s Superintendent Joe Orr, Professor Mike Cipoletti, State Trooper Babirad, Therapist Tom Schlosser, and Coalition for a Brighter Green.
There will be activities for children in the Gymnasium and refreshments will be available.
The event aims to provide facts and resources to parents who want to become informed or may be dealing with a child with drug problems. Please see the flyer above for more information.
