GREENSBORO – Over 20 families in the Southeastern Greene School District will now have a holiday ham to put on the dinner table thanks to The Southeastern Greeene Education Association.
This December, SEGEA took up a collection among teachers at Mapletown and Bobtown to purchase hams for families in need.
SEGEA President, Mr. Reed, said, “These hams benefit people in need by adding something to their Christmas dinner, and overall provides a meal for them this holiday.”
Over $500 was raised, and 26 hams were purchased for the families in need. Any additional money will be turned over so this act of kindness can be performed again next year.
The hams were purchased from Aldi. The families in need are a mix between Bobtown and Mapletown.
“This is a really good thing, it really helps out the community members and ensures they get a Christmas dinner this year.” – Mr. Reed
